Does KFC Have Their Own Chicken Farm? Some Shocking Truths About KFC Chicken!

Does KFC have their own chicken farm? Where does KFC chicken come from? Are all the rumors about how nasty KFC chicken is actually true? Or are they just rumors? Hold on tight while we dive deep into the depths of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Company!

Does KFC have their own chicken farm?

Let me get this straight first. Does KFC have their own chicken farm? No, it doesn’t. KFC does not own any chicken farms. They get their chickens imported both locally and internationally. Not one, but many companies provide chickens to KFC every single day.
According to the daily mail-online news, more than 1000 farms supply fast food chains around the world with 23 million chickens a year. One of the biggest suppliers of chicken to KFC is Tyson, a U.S.-based poultry factory.

Are chickens for KFC raised ethically?

KFC has promised that they will produce 100% cage-free chickens, and yes, they have been true to the promise. KFC does deals only with those chicken farms that can prove their chickens are cage-less.

But does cage-less mean humane? Are KFC chickens treated well before they become fried chicken?

Unfortunately, no. And no matter how much KFC tries to humane-wash their products, the facts cannot be altered. Chicken companies that supply chickens for KFC are all raised in the intensive farming method or factory farming.
Let me explain. Intensive farming is when chickens are mass-produced in factory settings with little space and under unnatural conditions. Yes, KFC chickens may not be horrible as chickens grown in battery cages.

But factory farming chickens in crowded quarters with no proper space to move or spread their wings or express their innate characteristics is still bad. The chickens live a pathetic, miserable hell of an existence before they become the chicken on your plate.

Think about it. Intensive farming of any animal is a horrid business. It’s the exploitation of animals for the selfish welfare of human appetite. And no, I am not a staunch vegetarian expressing my disgust. I am merely an advocate for animal farming that allows room for animals to be what they are.

And for that matter, it’s not KFC chicken alone that is bad. But most of the chickens in the U.S. market are, because about 97% of U.S. chickens are factory farmed under inhumane conditions.

The viral video of a YouTuber who showed people how humanely KFC chickens are raised faced a lot of criticism after many proved his video scripted and false. Read this article for the full criticism.

Are KFC chickens good to eat?

No, they are not. KFC chickens are heavy on antibiotics. Again, this comes from intensive farming because when birds are crammed together with little ventilation and freedom, they can fall ill easily. To prevent the spread of diseases that are common in factory farms, chickens are loaded with injections and antibiotics.

Eating meat that’s too full of antibiotics will result in antibiotic resistance in humans. This would mean sicker people, increased need for more powerful forms of antibiotics and death. If KFC is to eliminate the use of antibiotics completely, they must switch to free-range chickens or at least chickens that have been raised under appropriate conditions.

Another reason KFC chicken is unhealthy is that it uses MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) in its recipe. MSG may be disguised under names like yeast extract, autolyzed yeast, texturized protein and hydrolyzed plant protein. But the fancy names don’t hide the fact that MSG is unhealthy.

The use of MSG is an obvious reason why KFC chicken is so tasty and popular. Most fast food outlets, for that matter, depend on the energy of MSG to give their food the popularity it does not deserve.

The exact recipe and method of how KFC chickens are made is unknown. And if it was, I am sure that nobody in the right mind would eat it. Because fast food companies have a reputation for being unconcerned about consumer health. The recipe would definitely have many terrifying secrets.

Rumors also suggest that KFC chickens are genetically modified. But soon after, these stories were debunked, claiming that these were baseless myths and that KFC chickens are produced with the highest standards. But let me confide something to you. Whenever any type of accusations are made against gigantic companies like KFC or Johnson&Johnson, the stories fall flat, and these giants emerge unscathed, all the more bolder after the false accusations. And the rumors remain just rumors.

Like the rumors claim, I have not seen beakless and feetless ‘chickens’ being raised for KFC, so I cannot falsely accuse them. But. I also know better than to believe the word of a company that has all the money and power in the world. Because money can move mountains, and it can shut up the mouths of people as well.

To Sum it up

Does KFC have their own chicken farm? No, they don’t. Many chicken production factories provide KFC with the chickens they need.
Are they humanely raised? No, because no animal that is factory farmed in intensive farming conditions can be humanely raised. This is not even a matter for discussion when the chickens can barely spread their wings. And under such circumstances, the cage-less chicken promise by KFC does not make sense.
And finally, are KFC chickens good to eat? No, because they are full of antibiotics, injections, and MSG and are possibly genetically modified too. Yet they are finger lickin’ good. (Sarcasm intended)
